how to perform a
self-breast exam

1. Choose the same time each month, ideally a few days after your period.

2. Look at breasts in mirror w arms above head & flexing chest, checking for changes in size, shape, skin, contour, & nipples.

3. Feel entire breast in circular motion using pads of 2 fingers. Don't forget armpits & clavicles. Check for lumps, hardness, changes in skin, &/or nipple discharge.

4. Bring any areas of concern to the attention of your healthcare professional, who can evaluate clinically & may order ultrasound +/- mammogram.
